CD #1 - Stemple Pass

A rather (relatively speaking) short day, but with a 15-16 mile climb, and part of that at 7-10 percent on some loose big rock washed out and rutted and ... Well-- a challenge. And, really, that's just part of each day on this route. So be it.  And if it involves going so slow and  trepiditiously. On the rock. When speeds get to 3mph and I start tipping over... Well, so be that too. I can push.

Day 7. Thursday, July 3. CD1- Lincoln town to near Helena Nat'l forest, via Stemple Pass. 23.8 miles-  5-10percent grade at hardest. 7.5 avs even with pushing at 2-2.2mph for 2 ish miles.

So fortunate we were able to relax, after, at Barbara's place instead of (as we'd thought at one point) to attempt to continue in to Helena today, or even into the national forest in light if the immense thunder/wind/rain/hail storm that ensued in the early eve morning! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4SChFuWDTDI. Such a respite of charm and animal hospitality--to end a hard day and start a new one.
